No meat? No problem! Here’s a summer dinner/lunch that's made entirely from staple ingredients and comes together in no time.

Almost all ingredients in this recipe can be swapped or skipped, as long as you attain the right consistency. And that's what makes tuna burgers so versatile and easy to make.

Honestly, they don't get enough love in this house and should be made much more often!

Recipe yields between 4-5 large burgers.

  • 2 cans tuna in water, drained

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 2 shallots

  • Handful of cilantro

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp dijon

  • 2 tbsp mayo

  • 1/2 tsp sriracha

  • 1/2 lemon, juiced

  • Salt and pepper

  • 1/2 cup flour (you can also use breadcrumbs)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a mini chopper, mince garlic, shallots and cilantro until very fine.

  2. Transfer to a mixing bowl. Add all other ingredients and mix. Consistency should be shapeable.

  3. Heat a pan over medium low heat. Add just a little bit of oil then quickly shape your burger and sear in oil. Flip when sides are browning and crust is formed at the bottom.

  4. Remove from pan and build your burger!

Enjoy,

Guila
