The best Shavuot dairy appetizer that comes together in minutes, literally.
This is totally inspired by @sivanskitchen meat burekas. It’s such a simple way to feed a crowd and we definitely need those for the holidays!
1 roll puff pastry (2.2 lb)
500 g ricotta
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1 cup crumbled feta
1 egg
1 tsp dried onion
1/2 tsp each granulated garlic, crushed red pepper, oregano, salt
1 tsp favorite spice mix
Egg wash
Zaatar, black or white sesame seeds, for topping
DIRECTIONS:
Start by preheating your oven at 350 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, feta, shredded mozzarella, egg and spices.
Layer half of your rolled out puff pastry on the parchment paper. Spread out your cheese mixture evenly throughout the puff pastry. Layer the top with other half of your puff pastry.
Using a sharp knife, cut through to form squares. Do not move anything, just slice through it.
Brush egg wash on the whole surface. Sprinkle your favorite toppings on each square.
Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
