Another Mishte friendly finger food! I’ve been making this one for so long! You can find it in my highlights from way back. The OGs here would know 😉
Super easy and such a cute idea for your Purim table!
Yields about 20 lollipops
1 lb minced meat
1 tsp sumac
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
250 g pastrami
Oil, for frying
About 20-22 Small Skewers
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat your oven to 350 F.
Start by mixing the meat with spices and cilantro. Once combined set aside.
Slice pastrami in half, in order to make long stripes.
Using your skewers, form kebab around it, leaving the bottom of the skewer empty so it can look like a lollipop.
Wrap pastrami around the meat kebab. Repeat for all your meat.
Heat a pan of about an inch of oil at medium high heat. Start frying your skewers on all sides.
As they finish searing, place them in a baking dish. Once you add all of them in, cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes, so that the cooking process of the meat ends.
