One of the many moroccan delicacy that happens to be Kosher for Passover.

These cookies are a blend of raw nuts and dried fruits. A real party of goodness in your mouth!

Unlike most moroccan pastries, these cookies have a very minimal list of ingredients and steps to follow. They are the easiest way to impress your guests! Serve them alongside a hearty and fresh mint tea to end your meal on the sweetest note!

  • 300g walnuts

  • 300g almonds

  • 200g dried fruit (i used a blend of raisins and apricots)

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar (1 small bag)

  • 2 tbsp orange blossom water (or orange/lemon zest)

  • Icing sugar and more walnuts, to top

  • Melted chocolate (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a blender, or in a food processor, blend nuts, almonds and dried fruits together until mostly grounded. Transfer to a mixing bowl.

  2. Add eggs, sugar, baking powder, vanilla sugar and orange blossom. Using your hand, mix all the ingredients together very well. Using a glove helps.

  3. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  4. Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a full size baking sheet with parchment paper.

  5. Form balls with the dough. Dip in icing sugar all around and place on baking sheet.

  6. Carefully press down a walnut on each ball so the cookie has a small round shape. Don't worry if the sides break a little.

  7. Bake for 15 minutes. Let cool completely.

  8. Optional: drizzle melted chocolate on top.
