This is the one recipe i was dreaming of recreating. Crispy, tender, juicy KFC wings.
I love how they came out and hope you will too!
24 wings
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tsp
1/2 tsp each garlic powder, paprika, onion powder
1/4 tsp each cayenne, black pepper, thym
1 tsp salt
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup non dairy milk (such as oat or almond)
Oil, to fry
DIRECTIONS:
In a mixing bowl, combine chicken wings with flour, cornstarch, baking powder and all spices. Mix until everything is well coated.
Add eggs and milk. Mix wings.
Set aside to marinate in the fridge for about 30 minutes or more.
Heat 2 inches of oil in a pot. Fry chicken wings in batches, making sure not to crowd the pot. They need to fry for about 8 minutes at least. (Use a carrot in your oil to keep the oil from becoming dark)
Drain first on paper towel then on a rack so they dont become soggy.
Ps they are best eaten on the spot!
And for the dressing, it’s a classic around here!!
Cilantro dressing
2 bunches of cilantro
3/4 cup of mayo
1 garlic clove
3/4 of a full preserved lemon (or about 1.5-2 lemon juiced)
1 tbsp mustard
2 tbsp olive oil
salt and pepper, to taste
Throw everything in a food processor and pulse a few times.
