My aunt Molly’s famous honey cookies.
Not your typical honey cookies. These are addictive. I cannot stop eating them!
They are the perfect spiced fall treat, hope you try them!
4 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup honey
1 cup oil
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
5 cups flour
Egg yolk
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 325 F. Line two full size baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, sugar, honey, and oil. Whisk until thick texture forms.
Add baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ground cloves, and flour. Using your hand, knead the dough.
Form little balls (about 2 tsp) with your hands and slightly flatten them. Place on baking sheet and repeat for all.
Brush egg yolk on each one. Using the back of a fork, press a crosshatch pattern on each cookie.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
