I’ve been making these cookie sticks for the longest time.
When I gave birth, my amazing cousins brought me dinners every single night. One of my cousins sent me these along with supper and I was hooked. I asked her to send me the recipe, and the rest is history!
I’ve made them so many times and in so many different ways. They are the best, super versatile, last minute treat, for the last minute desert organizer like me! (and for those of us who hate doing dishes... it is a ONE bowl recipe)
Recipe comes from @bakesandsteaks and originally from @susiefishbein
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup oil
1 egg
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips (or nuts, m&m, white chocolate...)
More chocolate to drizzle, optional
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a full size baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine both sugars, egg and oil. Whisk until well incorporated.
Add the rest of the ingredients except for chocolate chips. Mix very well. For best results, wear a glove and mix with your hand. Add chocolate chips.
Transfer to baking sheet and form 2 long flat and thin logs. Bake for 14-15 minutes.
Slice straight out of the oven. Let cool.
If you want to add the chocolate, melt more chocolate chip “a bain marie” and drizzle it from high up!
Enjoy,
Guila
