A variation of my Zucchini Tart…
Introducing the Deli Tart.
So easy to make, very purim food vibe, or just for a shabbat lunch appetizer!
250 g assorted deli, diced
1 onion, finely diced
2 tbsp oil
7-8 garlic confit cloves
A sheet of 1.5 lb puff pastry
1 egg, beaten
Your Favorite herb mix (I used Trader Joe’s green goddess)
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Heat a pan at medium heat. Add oil. Throw in onion and saute until translucent. Add in deli and saute until slightly caramelized.
Roll out a rectangle of puff pastry on a parchment paper. In a small plate, mash your garlic confit and use it to spread as your base on the puff pastry. Leave your outer base plain, about an inch thick.
Layer with your onion deli mixture.
Brush your egg all around your rectangle, on that inch perimeter. Sprinkle your herb mix generously everywhere.
Bake for 45 minutes.
