Deep fried cookie dough.
Do I really need to say more?
These beauties speak for themselves. The most indulgent fried treat that you can have at your Channukah party!
Yields 20 balls
Cookie dough:
1/2 stick margarine, softened (or butter)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Batter:
1 1/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp oil
1 cup almond milk (or milk of your choice)
oil, for frying
Powdered sugar, to sprinkle
DIRECTIONS:
Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream margarine, sugar, egg and vanilla at low speed in a mixer, using the paddle attachement.
Add flour. When dough forms, add chocolate chips.
Form about 1 inch balls and place on parchment paper. Freeze for about 30 minutes.
Prepare your frying batter: mix all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add oil and while whisking, gradually add almond milk.
Heat about 2 inches of oil in a pot at 325-350 F. Dip cookie dough balls in batter and coat all around. Fry on one side and flip when brown.
Sprinkle powdered sugar on top and treat yourself!
