Chicken Arayes

Chicken Arayes (chicken stuffed pitas) are so easy to put together and you got yourself a full meal right there! You can even prep the chicken mixture in advance for easy last minute dinner!

  • 3 pitas, split in half

  • 1 lb minced chicken

  • 1/2 onion

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 1/4 cup cilantro

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric

  • Splash of lemon

  • Salt and pepper

  • Olive oil, for brushing



DIRECTIONS:


  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.

  2. In a mini processor, mince onion, garlic and cilantro.

  3. In a medium size mixing bowl, combine chicken, onion mixture, paprika, turmeric, lemon, salt and pepper. Mix until combined.

  4. Line a baking sheet with a wire rack. Fill half pitas with about 1/3-1/2 cup of the chicken mixture. Place on rack. Repeat for all.

  5. Brush olive oil on both outside parts of the pitas.

  6. Bake for 20 minutes. Flip pitas and bake another 5-8 minutes.
