Quiche is always a good idea. They reheat so well and are perfect for Shavuot coming up.
1 frozen pie crust
1 frozen pack of broccoli florets (680g)
2 tbsp oil
1/2 onion, finely diced
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup heavy cream
4 eggs
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 cup shredded cheese
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 F. Poke holes in pie crust. Pre bake for 7 min. Set aside.
Heat oil in a non stick pan at medium high heat. Add onion. Saute until brown and translucent.
Add broccoli and let them release all their moisture. This may take a little while but don't overmix or they might mush.
Add garlic and saute until fragrant.
Transfer to a mixing bowl and let cool.
Add heavy cream, eggs, salt and pepper. Mix to incorporate.
Transfer to pie crust. Top with cheese. Bake uncovered for 35 minutes, then broil for 3 minutes.
