Broccoli Quiche

Quiche is always a good idea. They reheat so well and are perfect for Shavuot coming up.

  • 1 frozen pie crust

  • 1 frozen pack of broccoli florets (680g)

  • 2 tbsp oil

  • 1/2 onion, finely diced

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 4 eggs

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese



DIRECTIONS:


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Poke holes in pie crust. Pre bake for 7 min. Set aside.

  2. Heat oil in a non stick pan at medium high heat. Add onion. Saute until brown and translucent.

  3. Add broccoli and let them release all their moisture. This may take a little while but don't overmix or they might mush.

  4. Add garlic and saute until fragrant.

  5. Transfer to a mixing bowl and let cool.

  6. Add heavy cream, eggs, salt and pepper. Mix to incorporate.

  7. Transfer to pie crust. Top with cheese. Bake uncovered for 35 minutes, then broil for 3 minutes.
