I made this veal back for Shavuot and never got to properly write a recipe and share it. I found it scribbled in my notes and remembered how good it was so i got to work!
1.5 kg Veal Brisket
2 large onions, thinly sliced
3 tbsp oil
1 cup beer
1/4 cup maple syrup
4 garlic cloves, sliced
3 bay leaves
1.5 tsp salt
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 300 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place your brisket in.
Start by heating a pan over medium high heat. Add oil and saute onions until soft and dark. Add beer, maple syrup and garlic. Saute for a few more minutes.
Pour sauce over brisket. Add bay leaves and salt.
Cover and bake for 8-8.5 hours. Keep checking and basting it. Once a fork goes in easily, its ready.
Cool before slicing.
