Chinese takeout is one of the best type of food ever! And when you can make it homemade, it's even better!
Beef and broccoli is a burst of asian flavors, and ultimate comfort food served over hot white rice 🤤. Can’t wait for you guys to try this!
Meat:
1 lb beef strips (this comes from the beef shoulder, for best results ask your butcher to prepare it)
1/2 lime, juiced
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp cornstarch
Sauce:
4 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp sriracha
1/4 cup warm water
1/2 lime, juiced
Salt and pepper, to taste
Other:
1 tsp grated ginger
2 tsp grated garlic (about 1-2 cloves)
1 bag frozen broccoli florets
Sesame seeds, to garnish (not pictured)
Chopped scallions, to garnish (not pictured)
DIRECTIONS:
Marinate meat. Set aside.
Prepare the grated ginger and garlic. Whisk together the sauce. Set both aside.
In a large pan or wok, sear the beef strips on both sides and set aside. Do not overcrowd the pan or they might steam. Do it in batches.
In the same pan, on medium high heat, add ginger and garlic and saute for a minute. Add frozen broccoli. Saute until thawed and slightly soft.
Add sauce to broccoli. Return the meat and its juices to the pan. Saute together until sauce slightly thickens and everything is well incorporated.
Serve over white rice!
Enjoy,
Guila
