Asian Ground Beef and Ramen

Guila Sandroussy

Can’t get enough of Chinese takeout! This time, I used ground beef so the recipe is more approachable and will feel less intimidating than beef strips!

Best part of this meal is that it took me exactly 20 minutes to put together from beginning to end, while filming a reel, keeping track of ingredient measurements and feeding snack to my daughter. Talk about #dinnerin5 !

serving beef and ramen

  • 1 large onion, finely diced

  • 3 tbsp oil

  • 1 clove of garlic, minced

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 2 tbsp hoisin

  • 2 tsp mirin

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp sriracha

  • Salt and pepper

  • 4 rice ramen squares (or 3 regular ramen)

  • Chopped green onions, to garnish (optional)

  • Black and white sesame seeds, to garnish (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Start by heating oil in a large pan. Add onion and saute until soft and translucent. Add garlic and saute until fragrant.

  2. In a separate pot, cook ramen according to package instructions.

  3. Add beef to pan and reduce flame to medium low heat. Break it down gently using a wooden spoon and cook through.

  4. In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin, mirin, soy, sriracha, salt and pepper. Add to meat mixture.

  5. Once sauce is incorporated, add ramen and mix to incorporate.

  6. Transfer to serving bowl and top with green onions and sesame seeds.
