There is NO WAY I would think this would work. Until I saw someone do that with pears and I was like WAIT… if pears do it, apples will FOR SURE.
And I was right. Who would ever think!!
Apples are the perfect ingredients for chocolate mousse because they provide natural sweetness, moisture for a creamier texture, and a fresh, fruity contrast to the rich chocolate. Their slight acidity balances the mousse’s chocolatey richness.
PLEASE try it for yourself and see what this hype is all about!!
300 g good quality chocolate (such as alprose)
4 gala apples, peeled and diced
DIRECTIONS:
Place all your diced apples in a saucepan. Add enough water to submerge the apples. Boil until soft and “mashable”. Pour out most of the water. Some water can stay at the bottom of the saucepan.
Melt your chocolate. If using microwave, melt with increments of 30 seconds, each time mixing the chocolate. If using double boiler, remove as soon as chocolate is melted.
Combine melted chocolate and soft apples into a blender. Blend until creamy.
Pour into desired dish. Set in the fridge until cold and firm.
Top with fruit, mint, powdered sugar or anything that you’d like!
