About Me
Growing up in a Moroccan household, there was little to no chance of getting near the kitchen. It wasn't something that initially appealed to me. I knew how to whip up a killer omelet and some amazing pasta, but that was about it.
Fast forward to when I was 21 and got married—I was thrown into a world of food shopping, planning, and cooking all at once. Luckily for my husband, he became the official taste tester and always embraced his role with positive words, even enduring many burnt chicken dishes with a smile!
We dreamt of having a full house, filled with guests, family, and friends all gathered around food and good vibes. Our home quickly became what we envisioned, and my cooking skills followed suit. After having my second child and becoming a full-time mom during the frigid Montreal winter days, I realized my love for creating and sharing food. That's when I created my Instagram page, @tastyandhasty.
Initially, I started the page as a guide for my own recipes. I rarely measured (unless sharing a recipe) and used my senses and intuition as tools. As I recorded these recipes, the page evolved into more than just a "recipe book." I began connecting with people, sharing tips, and offering help where I could. It became my creative outlet, and it's been that way ever since.
I share a lot of quick and simple recipes because I don't believe cooking should be complicated. With a few fresh flavors and spices, you can whip up beautiful and delicious dishes. It's all about the love you add to your food. Keep it simple, use seasonal ingredients, and have fun!
My food style has evolved since my very first Insta post, now blending modern flavors with authentic Moroccan cuisine, all while keeping it quick and simple. With four children under 10 years old, efficiency is key, and that's why I believe in cooking smartly without sacrificing quality. On my blog, you will find the most elaborate authentic dishes, as well as the simplest, quickest meals for busy moms. Additionally, you will discover tips and tricks of the cooking world.
The love I have for cooking for my family, watching them gather around a meal, and enjoy it brings me ultimate joy. I believe this feeling was rooted in me since my childhood with the various aromas and flavors surrounding me. I hope to pass on the same food memories to my kids so that, one day, they will long for the same aromas they had growing up. I also hope to transmit a small slice of that love and attachment that I have for cooking to each one of you!
