Growing up in a Moroccan household, there was little to no chance of getting near the kitchen. It wasn't something that initially appealed to me. I knew how to whip up a killer omelet and some amazing pasta, but that was about it.

Fast forward to when I was 21 and got married—I was thrown into a world of food shopping, planning, and cooking all at once. Luckily for my husband, he became the official taste tester and always embraced his role with positive words, even enduring many burnt chicken dishes with a smile.
